Eduroam (education roaming) is an international roaming service for users in research, higher education and further education that enable researchers, teachers and students to easily access a secure network when visiting an institution other than their own. Eduroam is available at selected locations in countries with a National Roaming Operator (NRO) that has signed the Eduroam Compliance Statement. In Africa, Eduroam is deployed in Kenya (KENET), Morocco (MARWAN), Ghana (GARNET), South Africa (TENET), and Tanzania (TERNET). TERNET in its capacity as NREN and NRO, acts as a facilitator of this service hence will not charge members any fee.

Eduroam is a secure education wireless access service that allows students, research scholars and staff from participating member institutions to obtain internet connectivity across campus and when visiting other participant members around the globe. Eduroam sites in Tanzania are Nelson Mandela African Institute of Science and Technology (NM-AIST) in Arusha, Kilimanjao Christian Medical College (KCMC) & Mwenge Catholic University (MWECAU) in Kilimanjaro, Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE), Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology (DIT), Institute of Social Work (ISW) all in Dar es Salaam. Eduroam is also found at TERNET and COSTECH offices
