Identity Provider (IDP)
IDP stands for Identity Provider and is a system entity that creates, maintains and manages identity information for principals while providing authentication services to relying applications within a federation or distributed network. TERNET in its capacity as NREN will provide the authentication as value-added service to members. This service will enable TERNET members to use single sign-on (SSO) to access other websites.
