WORKSHOP GOAL:

The main goal is to provide more knowledge to network engineering staff on how to monitor and manage their campus network designs using different tools.

WORKSHOP EXPECTATION:

At the end of the workshop, participants are expected to be able to learn how to monitor and manage the Network Operation Center(NOC) at the University/Cumpus/Institute.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

• Network and System Administrators from Universities or institutes, who are responsible for System management and Network monitoring and management and problem response within the campus.
• ICT technical staff for Education and Research Institutions want to develop skills in Network and System management.

TRAINING OUTLINE:

• Introduction to Network Monitoring and Management.
• Security essentials including SSH, Linux commands (CLI), and text editor (vi, nano).
• Installation, configuration and understanding of monitoring tools like LibreNMS, Smokeping, RANCID, Netflow and Nfsen.
• Network documentation.
• Log Management.
• Simulated network attack and detection using installed tools.
